Corporate Resolution by the Executive Board of

the Clan Henderson Society, Inc.

 

 

WHEREAS a cohesive, effective, and efficient regional commission organization of the Society is necessary to ensure perpetuation and growth of the Society; and

 

WHEREAS the Executive Board wishes to establish the organizational structure of the regional commissioner program of the Society; and

 

WHEREAS it is important to maximize the talents and contributions of the members of the Society while respecting the constraints of geography,

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Executive Board of the Clan Henderson Society, Inc., that the regional commission organization of the Society shall be established and that it shall be referred to as the REGIONAL COMMISSION ORGANIZATION Policy as follows:

 

REGIONAL COMMISSION ORGANIZATION POLICY

 

Overview: The membership of the Society is organized into geographical regions and each region shall have a Regional Commissioner, responsible to the Executive Board, who shall have responsibilities and authorities as outlined in the By Laws. 

 

Considerations: When establishing geographical regions, the Executive Board will consider size of the membership base, opportunity and proximity for participation in Scottish and Celtic festivals and games, communications challenges and potential for the appointment of Regional Commissioners.

 

Organization:  The membership of the Society shall be organized into the following regions:

 

CENTRAL Region, consisting of the six (6) states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, and South Dakota, with approximately 11 games and festivals annually.

 

FAR SOUTH Region, consisting of the three (3) states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, with approximately nine (9) games and festivals annually.

 

GREAT LAKES Region, consisting of the five (5) states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin, with approximately 12 games and festivals annually.

 

MID-EAST Region, consisting of the five (5) states of Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, with approximately 17 games and festivals annually.

 

MID-SOUTH Region, consisting of the five (5) states of Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee, with approximately six (6) games and festivals annually.

 

NORTH EAST Region, consisting of the seven (7) states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont, with approximately 22 games and festivals annually.

 

NORTH PACIFIC region, consisting of the four (4) states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon, with approximately 12 games and festivals annually.

 

OCEANIA Region, consisting of Australia, New Zealand, and other countries  within MelanesiaMicronesia, and Polynesia, with approximately seven (7) games and festivals annually.

 

SCOTLAND Region, consisting of the countries of Ireland and the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales), with approximately 10 games and festivals annually.

 

SOUTH EAST Region, consisting of the four (4) states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with approximately 24 games and festivals annually.

 

SOUTH PACIFIC Region, consisting of the three (3) states of California, Hawaii, and Nevada, with approximately 17 games and festivals annually.

 

SOUTH WEST Region, consisting of the five (5) states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming, with approximately 13 games and festivals annually.

 

Non-Regional areas.  Members who reside within the geographical boundaries of Africa, APO/FPO, Antarctica, Asia, Europe (other than UK), and South America will not be considered within a region but will be overseen by the Vice President for Members who will maintain communications with them and by the Vice President for Operations who will keep them informed about games and festivals that may be of interest.
