Not that I know of. A distant relative shared this with me over 20 years ago. I would like to know where my origins began but life kind of got busy over the years. My wife passed away a little over 5 years now and before that, I was busy taking care of her for almost 9 years.

As the old saying goes "God created whiskey to keep the Irish and Scots from taking over the world". Ha! My great grand father (x5) was William Henderson of Virginia. I think his birth year was 1797 (or could be his death). They say he came here on a ship to Virginia but do not know from where in Ireland or Scotland. His son, my great grand father (x4) was Hiram Henderson. He fought in the civil war for the 21st Georgia Infantry. Hiram's wife was Rachel McKnew of Cherokee North Carolina. Census records showed they lived in Rising Fawn , Georgia in 1847. It was said that William had a falling out with 2 business partners in Virginia and a lawsuit ensued. Something about a University they started. It was also said the records were sealed. But that's just some of the things the past holds.

Amusing story. My interest in my family history began when I was overseas in the Navy. This was around 1984-5. We had liberty in a port I believe it was Palma Nova , Spain. On a Sailors (me) relaxing time (liberty call) , I found an Irish pub where some of my shipmates where getting tattos and finding the pints of refreshment as I, when I found on a lonely wall ,hanging there since who knows when a map of Scotland and Ireland with family names and locations. There I saw the Henderson name and became amazed that I would find of all places, in Spain, in an Irish pub, owned and ran by two German fellows, the Henderson name. It is a small world after all.
